Deeply passionate about single mothers and their children, Monica Flynn has been actively involved in the Pro-Life movement for 25 years. Founder and CEO of Mommies Matter, Monica’s determination to do more for women who choose life stemmed from her 15+ years of volunteer work as a hotline consultant for a pregnancy health center. Monica graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a major in Mechanical Engineering. She served our country as a United States Air Force officer stationed at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. Monica was a worthy recipient of the 2019 Mother Teresa Award of Charity, Compassion, and Service, sponsored by the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. Monica is fluent in American Sign Language. Monica and her husband Kevin have been blessed with a 34-year marriage, five children and nine grandchildren. They currently reside in Galena, OH, after enjoying 20 years in Westerville as parishioners at St. Paul, and are now active parishioners at St John Neumann in Sunbury.
Born and raised near Cleveland, Ohio, Gina married her husband, Brian, in 2014 and moved to Lancaster, Ohio. Prior to the birth of their first child in 2020, Gina and Brian welcomed several children and youth into their home as foster parents and remain committed to the hard work of advocating for family preservation. Gina has been with Mommies Matter since its inception.

Daphne, her husband, and their 3 adult children travel to Chiapas, Mexico during the summers to participate in medical mission trips to provide eye care to the local residents. She currently lives in Westerville and has been a parishioner at St. Paul the Apostle Church since 2002.
Anna was born in Michigan, but moved to Ohio in 2019. She and her husband have been married for 2 years and live in Delaware with their daughter. She is inspired by the beauty found in art, nature, and the beauty of the human person. In her free time she enjoys exploring the Columbus metro parks with her family.

Brandy brings experience as a controller in both for profit and not for profit industries. She also brings a passion for helping others. Since 2014, Brandy has served as a board member in various capacities for New Horizons Mental Health Services. Brandy also has a passion for strengthening families with a focus on improving relationships.

Renee Lupi, Esq. is a wife and mother of one girl. Renee is devoted to helping children and families as evidenced by her history of public service. She is currently employed by the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services (ODJFS) in the Office of Families and Children as a Policy Developer. In her current role, Renee provides children services policy guidance to Ohio’s Public Children Services Agencies (PCSAs), state field office employees, community partners, and stakeholders. Renee earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Studies from Kent State University in 2000 and a Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School 2003. She has been a licensed Attorney and certified Guardian Ad Litem in Ohio since 2007. She feels called to use her legal expertise to answer questions for single mothers and empower them with the tools they need to navigate the justice system.

Having been overlooked and written off as another statistical failure as a teen mother, Deanna realized something had to change and cultivated the resilience she had drawn on over the years. Deanna learned that only 3% of foster youth go on to obtain a college degree and she was determined to be among that number. Deanna went on to graduate from The Ohio State University with her Bachelors’ of Science in Social Work and her LSW and eventually earned a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration. Deanna is now a licensed life coach, author, co-owns a hair store and looks to share her expertise to ensure best practice for the children and families served by the child welfare system .

Leisa Ehlers is a registered nurse specializing in maternal newborn nursing. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Miami University of Ohio. As a labor and delivery nurse, women’s health nurse, and Mommies Matter board member, Leisa is passionate about providing support to moms and witnessing the miracle of birth. In her role as an Ally for Mommies Matter, she is able to continue serving women during this special and challenging chapter of their lives. Leisa is married to Robert Ehlers, a retired Air Force officer, and spent 24 years moving around the world as a military spouse. She and Robert have three daughters. Leisa is a member of the Saint John Neumann Parish and resides in Westerville, Ohio.

Daphne hopes to help these mommies to realize the positives of choosing life for their children and to offer the resources they need so they can stand on their own; thus empowering them to stop the generational cycle of trauma and allow them to start a meaningful legacy for their children.
