Deeply passionate about single mothers and their children, Monica Flynn has been actively involved in the Pro-Life movement for 25 years. Founder and CEO of Mommies Matter, Monica’s determination to do more for women who choose life stemmed from her 15+ years of volunteer work as a hotline consultant for a pregnancy health center. Monica graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a major in Mechanical Engineering. She served our country as a United States Air Force officer stationed at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. Monica was a worthy recipient of the 2019 Mother Teresa Award of Charity, Compassion, and Service, sponsored by the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. Monica is fluent in American Sign Language. Monica and her husband Kevin have been blessed with a 33-year marriage, five children and eight grandchildren. They currently reside in Galena, OH, after enjoying 20 years in Westerville as parishioners at St. Paul, and are now active parishioners at St John Neumann in Sunbury.
Born and raised near Cleveland, Ohio, Gina married her husband, Brian, in 2014 and moved to Lancaster, Ohio. Prior to the birth of their first child in 2020, Gina and Brian welcomed several children and youth into their home as foster parents and remain committed to the hard work of advocating for family preservation. Gina has been with Mommies Matter since its inception.
Jenn was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. She comes from a large Catholic family & attended Bishop Watterson High School. She met her husband, Jim, while attending Ohio State University. They have been married for 24 years and have 4 children whose ages span from 22 all the way down to 8! She has been an educator for 18 years, but recently stepped away in order to homeschool her youngest. She is now following the Lord’s call to assist Mommies with their day to day challenges related to new motherhood as Family Advocate for Mommies Matter.
Anna moved from Michigan to Ohio in 2019 and currently lives in Columbus with her husband and their daughter. She is inspired by the beauty found in art, nature, and the beauty of the human person. In her free time she enjoys photography & exploring the Columbus metro parks with her family.
Maura was born in Dublin, Ohio and now resides in Delaware, Ohio. She graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville where she studied Spanish and Marketing. She later completed a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a certification in ESL while teaching Spanish. She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening and running. She is passionate about fostering a culture of life, and sees challenges as opportunities for continuous conversion and deepening of trust in the Lord.
Brandy is originally from West Portsmouth, OH. She and her husband, Jeremy, relocated to the Columbus area in 2000. They now reside in Lancaster with their 2 children. Brandy has an accounting degree from Ohio Northern University. While initially coming to Mommies Matter to serve as an Ally, she is also excited to help the team with her skills as an accountant. Brandy brings experience as a controller in both for profit and not for profit industries. She also brings a passion for helping others. Since 2014, Brandy has served as a board member in various capacities for New Horizons Mental Health Services. Brandy also has a passion for strengthening families with a focus on improving relationships.
Daphne’s passion for service and the Pro-Life movement have motivated her to be a Ally for nearly 3 years. She earned a degree in pharmacy from The Ohio State University as well as a degree in chemistry from Miami University. In her free time, she teaches 2nd Grade Parish School of Religion at St. Paul in Westerville. Daphne, her husband, and their 3 adult children travel to Chiapas, Mexico during the summers to participate in medical mission trips to provide eye care to the local residents. She currently lives in Westerville and has been a parishioner at St. Paul the Apostle Church since 2002.
Kim is a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, volunteer, and friend . She is deeply devoted to her faith and her family. As a professional, Kim had a lengthy career in the corporate world, specializing in Human Resources. She then worked for St John Neumann Catholic Church where her primary focus was the ministry to the sick and dying. Kim recently retired at the end of 2021 to be more available to her family and to Mommies Matter as well as continuing to visit three delightful, elderly, outspoken women.
Lee is the mother of three wonderfully callithumpian children and is an ardant alumni of The Ohio State University. She enjoys being active outdoors, decorating and anything to do with coffee and chocolate. Becoming involved with Mommies Matter was an answer to longfully praying for a way to help mothers who choose life but yet needed help after that choice to sustain themselves and their beautiful babies. It has become a blessing for her to be involved since 2017 to witness how Mommies Matter has grown and has touched so many lives.
Lyndsie is a wife and mother of four boys and one girl. Originally from Columbus, OH, Lyndsie and her family relocated to Tampa, FL to take on a new journey. Lyndsie is passionate about helping women overcome challenges in life they feel they may not be able to tackle. One of them being credit restoration, credit building and budgeting. Lyndsie seeks to empower women to take control of their future by creating good financial habits and utilizing their budget.
Meredith received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Illinois in 2003, and is currently a Nationally Board Certified Counselor and Nationally Board Certified Coach. With experience working with survivors of trauma, Meredith is skilled in empathizing and understanding one’s past and utilizing it as a frame of reference for moving forward. She is committed to fostering a healthy, thriving, meaningful life. Meredith has been married for 20 years to her high school sweetheart and has two beautiful children. She loves spending time with them as a family, loves Jesus, prefers warm sunny weather, and loves finding joy and laughter in the everyday.
Renee Lupi, Esq. is a wife and mother of one girl. She was born in Michigan and lived throughout the Midwest as a child including Nebraska, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Renee landed in the central Ohio area around age fourteen and still calls it home today.
Renee is devoted to helping children and families as evidenced by her history of public service. She is currently employed by the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services (ODJFS) in the Office of Families and Children as a Policy Developer. In her current role, Renee provides children services policy guidance to Ohio’s Public Children Services Agencies (PCSAs), state field office employees, community partners, and stakeholders. She also develops program rules that govern child protection practices throughout the state to be used in the Ohio Administrative Code. Prior to working for ODJFS Renee served as a PCSA Attorney and Supervisor for over 10 years in Morrow County, Ohio. Renee earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Studies from Kent State University in 2000 and a Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School 2003. She has been a licensed Attorney and certified Guardian Ad Litem in Ohio since 2007.
She loves spending time with her family, including her cat Hilde. Renee enjoys sporting events, warm vacations, and a good cup of coffee. She feels called to use her legal expertise to answer questions for single mothers and empower them with the tools they need to navigate the justice system.

Cindy is honored to be a founding board member of Mommies Matter. As a single mother to her son Bill, she has a great deal of empathy and understanding for the mothers we serve. Cindy began with mentoring single moms to help them get through their pregnancy and first months as a mother. She has learned everyone has different needs and desires and it is always interesting and uplifting to find potential solutions for each one. In her professional life, Cindy has taught dancing to hundreds of dancers since she started teaching at the age of 14. She has been a professional dancer, TV news reporter and small business owner, and finds the true blessings in life come from helping others.

Leisa Ehlers is a registered nurse specializing in maternal newborn nursing. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Miami University of Ohio. As a labor and delivery nurse, women’s health nurse, and Mommies Matter board member, Leisa is passionate about providing support to moms and witnessing the miracle of birth. In her role as an Ally for Mommies Matter, she is able to continue serving women during this special and challenging chapter of their lives. Leisa is married to Robert Ehlers, a retired Air Force officer, and spent 24 years moving around the world as a military spouse. She and Robert have three daughters. Leisa is a member of the Saint John Neumann Parish and resides in Westerville, Ohio.
December works full-time as a Benefits Coordinator at one of the largest public pension funds in the country. December has a passion to serve single mothers and give back because she was a single mother at one time and understands the issues and obstacles single moms face everyday. December is married to her wonderfully supportive husband David, and they share four beautiful children, three sons and one daughter. December holds a BS in Public Relations from Franklin University and is currently pursuing a career in nursing.

Micah Haralson is a native of Michigan, and currently resides in Columbus, Ohio. A family man and father 6 boys and 3 girls, Micah is passionate about education, children, and the formation of young men. He has been a small business owner in the Early Childhood Education arena for the last 10 years, which allows him to touch many young lives daily. Micah currently serves on the Board of Directors for Mommies Matter.
